The Challenge
Tom, the founder of YouDrink, approached us with the challenge of creating an online shop for his new startup. The website needed to provide information about the company, a contact page, and a comprehensive eCommerce store with 20 products, with the potential to add more over time. The site had to be fully responsive and showcase products to the fullest, as well as have payment integration and order management so that once an order was placed, a notification could be sent through to activate the delivery.
The Solution
After our initial client meeting, we gained detailed information about the business and website specifications in order to build a comprehensive plan. We set up a hosting account and migrated their existing web domain, then built the website using WordPress, Elementor Pro, and WooCommerce for the eCommerce solution.
For the eCommerce solution, we set up a payment gateway so YouDrink could easily take payments through their website. We used WooCommerce, a WordPress plugin that processes payments seamlessly and allows funds to be automatically collected following a successful customer transaction. To make this work, we had to set up a payment processor, which in this case was Stripe as it is fully compatible with WooCommerce.
Once the customer placed an order, WooCommerce took the details and processed the payment through Stripe. The money is available in the client’s account after three working days, making it ideal for any small business owner who requires funds to be moved around quickly. With this system, we were able to create a functional eCommerce website that provided the basis for YouDrink to start selling its products online.
The next stage of the process was to provide comprehensive training to the business so they could add new products, edit existing products, change pricing, stock levels, delivery information, upload product imagery correctly, and more. We sat down and went through all of the above over a couple of hours so Tom was fully comfortable and knowledgeable in working with WordPress going forward. Following training, we offered technical support if he had any questions or problems with the system.
The Results
The results of our work with YouDrink were nothing short of remarkable. We successfully fulfilled all the requirements outlined in the initial consultation, creating a dependable and brand-worthy eCommerce website built with an easy-to-control WordPress management system. This enabled them to easily add new products, edit existing products, and update information with ease. The colors and fonts on the website perfectly reflect their branding, and the navigation between pages is intuitive and structured. Furthermore, the website is responsive across all devices, a crucial factor in today’s world where consumers increasingly place orders on their mobile devices with the help of advanced technologies such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Since launch, we have continued to help YouDrink expand the capabilities of their sales solution, creating discount vouchers, a local pickup option, and different levels of delivery. We have also provided ongoing web maintenance and hosting, development, and technical support.
